Bayesian methods in statistics are increasingly popular. The advances of computational power and tools support the use of Bayesian methods in many areas. Bayesian inference provides solutions to problems that might not be solved easily using standard frequentist methods. Bayesian method can be applied in many fields such as in engineering, industry, medical, information technology, science, social science, economics, business and finance to mention a few.

Learning and implementing Bayesian approaches to data analysis nowadays is usuallysupported by open source software WinBUGS (Bayesian Using Gibbs Sampling running under windows) package and R language. WINBUGS software uses Gibbs sampling algorithm to generate a Markov Chain sampling from full conditional posterior distribution. Indeed, some users of this software might also be interested in saving the output and reading it into R for further analysis.

Having supported by computational software, learning Bayesian method will be made easy and interesting. Bayesian learner and researchers can discuss and work together with some practical experiences an d theoretical aspects simultaneously in the proposed workshop. This Bayesian modeling workshop is accomplished, in order to improve knowledge and to link collaboration among researchers from other part of the world. The workshop is structured as two mini-workshops each of one day to present basics in the first two days, which is then concluded by advance topics in the third day.

Workshop Material and Activities
Day 1. Introduction to the Bayesian thinking which include:

- Introduction to Bayesian paradigm.
- Posterior distribution.
- Implementation: Demonstration of WinBUGS.

Day 2. Practical Introduction to WinBUGS.

- More on MCMC (diagnostics, developing Gibbs & Metropolis algorithms)
- Prior issues
- Intro to Hierarchical Modeling (construction of hierarchical models, WinBUGS case studies)
- Time series models

Day 3. Advanced Hierarchical Modeling & Overview

- Meta-analysis, latent variable and mixture models, spatial models, Bayesian Networks.
- Model diagnosis (model fit, model choice)
- WinBUGS practical

Overview and discuss some other software for Bayesian analysis and MCMC. Recently solved advance problems and cases using WinBUGS and R are will be presented and discussed.
